The Cheap Shades — Writing · Production · Recording
The Cheap Shades is the first artist on the Solitude Records roster. "Less Tears" is their debut single — indie rock built on guitars and synths, psychedelic and dreamy with an energy that pulls you forward. Out now on all platforms.
Based in Amsterdam, The Cheap Shades craft indie/synth pop that balances electronic precision with vintage groove. Their drum machine patterns give the music a tight, robotic pulse, while the bass and guitar make it feel more organic — inspired by John Frusciante's simple, melodic style — floating on top with psychedelic chord textures reminiscent of Tame Impala.

Yes — whether you've never recorded before or you're preparing your third release, sessions adapt to where you are.
Can sessions be done online?
Songwriting and coaching work well online. Recording and production sessions are currently in-person in Amsterdam.
How do I know if we're a good fit?
